That is why our CMF Forecast 2027 has been developed as a living tool, grounded in the expertise of its creators, documenting the collective vision of architecture and interior design firms from different regions of the country, and enriched by constant observation, critical analysis, and aesthetic sensitivity. The new trends we will present reflect deep concerns about how we want to live, what values we want to preserve, and how we can design more human, sustainable, and meaningful spaces. Each trend is an open narrative that can be used as a starting point, an accent, or a provocation. The three new trends will be unveiled in October.

The Color Authority™ (TCA) is a leading consultancy specialized in Color, Material, and Finish (CMF) strategy, trend forecasting, and color psychology. Founded by Judith van Vliet, the company helps brands craft impactful color narratives that strengthen visual identity and deepen consumer connection.
TCA offers consulting services in CMF design, color palette development, keynote speaking, and trend analysis across industries such as fashion, interior design, consumer goods, and mobility.
The company has collaborated with renowned brands including Braun, Dulux Australia, Comex, Trevira CS, Renolit, Tecnica Group, Vidde Mobility, and 2tec2. One of its most notable projects was developing a new color strategy for the 50th anniversary of Braun’s MPZ22, which later evolved into a comprehensive chromatic strategy rooted in sustainability and visual storytelling.
In addition, TCA provides thought leadership through its podcast, conferences, and strategic collaborations, establishing itself as a key player in the evolution of color and CMF within design and marketing.
Judith van Vliet is the founder of The Color Authority, she is an expert in the field and the host of the popular The Color Authority podcast, which focuses on color. She previously served as President of Color Marketing Group, and before that, she was Senior Color Designer at Avient ColorWorks and Creative Director of ColorForward.
As a former president of Color Marketing Group and through her leadership roles spanning more than fifteen years, she remains at the forefront of the discussion on color theory and its practical applications.
She has been pivotal in shaping the color narratives for leading brands, leveraging her deep understanding of the emotional resonance and psychological impact of color. Her passion for color transcends conventional boundaries, as demonstrated by her dynamic involvement with various industries, designers, and marketing specialists worldwide.
Through her podcast, conferences, and workshops, she offers invaluable insights on how to harness the transformative power of color in brand creation, design, personal expression, and cultural storytelling.
