Since founding her own studio in 1991, she has developed major works including the urban complex in Barcelona’s historic centre comprising Plaça de la Gardunya, the Massana School of Art and Design, and the extension of La Boqueria Market; CaixaForum Zaragoza Cultural Centre; the WU Vienna University Housing Building; Cube Towers I and II in Guadalajara, Mexico; and the 2018 MPavilion in Melbourne.

Her work has received some of the highest distinctions in the field, including Spain’s National Architecture Award in 2021, the Gold Medal for Architecture in 2022, the Prat de la Riba Award in 2023, and an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Seville in 2025. She has also received major international honours such as the Richard J. Neutra Medal and the Berkeley-Rupp Prize in 2016.

Carme Pinós’s work forms part of the permanent collections of the Centre Pompidou and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It has also been featured in major solo exhibitions at institutions such as the Venice Biennale in 2018 and Fundación ICO in 2021, further establishing her as a leading figure in contemporary architecture.

After practising in Colombia and England, he began working in 1997 with his long-standing partner, architect Marcela Albornoz.

In 2010, they founded Taller de Arquitectura de Bogotá, TAB>l, developing a distinctive approach to architectural projects based on five essential principles: prioritising collective and public spaces; promoting flexibility as a tool for transformation and adaptability; exploring abstraction through formal research; transforming structure into an integral element of optimisation; and recognising materials as a source of innovation.

Alongside his professional practice as a designer, Daniel Bonilla devotes a significant part of his time to academia, where he has worked primarily as a design studio professor. He has participated as a lecturer, panellist, visiting professor and project tutor at numerous universities in Colombia and abroad. He has also served as a curator and jury member at various events within the fields of art, design and architecture.

In addition, he has advised educational institutions in Colombia and is a member of professional associations that promote collaborative practice and high standards within the architectural profession.

Members of the French Academy of Architecture, they will serve as curators of the 2027 Venice Architecture Biennale and have participated as jurors for major distinctions including the Pritzker Prize, the UIA Gold Medal and the RIBA International Prize.

In 1997, they founded Amateur Architecture Studio, where they have developed a critical response to China’s rapid urbanisation. Their work is distinguished by the reuse of materials, the preservation of everyday memory and the revival of traditional craftsmanship, proposing an experimental architecture deeply rooted in its vernacular context.

Their most acclaimed projects include the Ningbo History Museum, the Xiangshan Campus of the China Academy of Art, the regeneration of Wencun Village and the Fuyang Cultural Complex. Their work has been presented at the Venice Biennale, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Centre Pompidou, as well as in solo exhibitions at institutions including the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and BOZAR in Brussels.

In 2003, they founded the Department of Architecture at the China Academy of Art, followed by the School of Architecture in 2007, where Wang Shu serves as dean and Lu Wenyu directs the Sustainable Construction Centre. Their shared vision has redefined architectural education and practice in China by integrating memory, innovation and social context.
