SPACE
A space that hosts various content creation initiatives by Obra Blanca. Each year, different professionals from the fields of architecture, interior design, product design, and lighting in Mexico are invited to contribute to this versatile environment, where interviews, exhibitions, idea exchanges, gatherings, and cocktails take place over the course of the three-day event.

This year the White Work Space will be carried out by AMOATO and Luca Salas.

AMOATO is a design studio specialized in crafting visual and sensory experiences that transform brands into memorable stories. Their passion lies in shaping ideas that connect with emotions, paying attention to every detail and always seeking that moment of wonder that makes all the difference.
With a comprehensive and personalized approach, AMOATO partners with some of the world’s most renowned brands to develop unique concepts within the world of luxury. Always guided by a strategic vision and a deep respect for both aesthetics and technique, the studio has created projects for distinguished names such as Hermès, Dior, Loewe, Moët & Chandon, Don Julio, Tiffany & Co., Comex, Carolina Herrera, Dom Pérignon, and Clase Azul, among others.
The studio is made up of a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, illustrators, architects, and engineers, led by three industrial designers: Melissa Falcón, Saraí Noguez, and Raymundo Botello. Pioneers of paper art in Mexico, they have spent over 14 years exploring and evolving creatively—integrating new languages, materials, and mediums of expression. Their approach blends the precision of design with the freedom of art, giving life to visual experiences that balance form, purpose, and emotion.
Today, AMOATO specializes in luxury retail design, creating window displays, ephemeral commercial spaces, art installations, exhibitions, events, and commercial interiors. Each project is an opportunity to craft narratives that captivate, elevate, and—most importantly—resonate with audiences.
AMOATO’s philosophy is rooted in the pursuit of the extraordinary. Their work is driven by passion and an unwavering commitment to exceeding expectations. For the studio, creating something exceptional takes more than talent—it requires creativity, determination, attention to detail, and heart.

Luca Salas was born in Mexico City and earned his degree in architectural design from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He later completed a Master’s in Lighting Design and LED Technology at the Consorzio del Politecnico di Design in Milan, Italy.
His fascination with the world of lighting and architecture began through his engagement with social spaces, where visual perception served as a bridge between technology and emotion. His questioning of the basic function of the window in architecture—as an object that reveals the habits between space and its user—led him to create his own lighting studio as a workshop for the exploration of light within architecture.
In 2012, he launched his professional practice, LSBA Studio, in Milan, Italy, exploring the relationship between light and architecture through small installations and exhibitions. To date, he has developed projects in Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Mexico. He has collaborated with architecture and design studios such as Ulrike Brandi, Paolo Rizzatto, Rossi Bianchi, Gala Fernández, Carusso Torricella Architetti, Francesco Murano, Diego Villaseñor Arquitectos, JSa, Materia Arq, Luxury Frontiers, Alberto Kalach, Mauricio Rocha, Max Von Werz, Frida Escobedo, Gabriela Carrillo, Lanza Atelier, and Lázaro Studio.
He has delivered lectures at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, the postgraduate program at UNAM, Universidad Anáhuac Norte, Politecnico di Milano, UNIS Guatemala, and the Italian Lighting Association (APIL). Since 2014, he has been a speaker at the Essence of Light workshops organized by the Ulrike Brandi Institute for Light & Design in Mexico.
Since 2018, he has been a faculty member in the postgraduate lighting program at CENTRO University in Mexico City, where he teaches his own studio focused on natural light.
In 2017, Light magazine in London named him one of the 40under40 Light Designers of the World. In 2018, he received the Master of Light award at the Construlita Awards, as well as the prize for Best Lighting Design at the Public Spaces Awards for his work on the “Parte Luz” Pavilion, designed by architect Gustavo Carmona (Materia Arq) for Design Week. In that project, light was treated as a reflection of the qualities of natural light at night, considering both time and intensity.
Luca has twice been a recipient of Mexico’s National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) through its Young Creators program (2017–2018 and 2021–2022), with projects titled Guide to Natural Light in Mexico City and Light Receivers.
He returned to Mexico City in 2014, where he continues to offer consultancy in lighting, materials, architectural spaces, and the role of time in design.
“To design is to visually edit the space we inhabit by elevating what already exists.”
WHAT WILL YOU FIND IN THE OBRA BLANCA SPACE?

The CMF Obra Blanca 2027 Forecast, in partnership with The Color Authority™ (TCA), is an interdisciplinary project that, with the support of architecture, interior design, and design firms from different regions of the country, will establish national inspiration guidelines for 2027. These guidelines can be used as a standard for selecting finishes, materials, and colors that enhance and inspire the development of better projects in Mexico.

Each year, Obra Blanca broadcasts live interviews with speakers and participants from the forums, providing an opportunity to delve deeper into specific topics and retransmit them to reach the entire community beyond Obra Blanca’s boundaries.
